Answer: A crime of moral turpitude is identified in immigration law as being a particular problem. Immigration law doesn’t actually set out specifically, “This crime is a crime of moral turpitude.” What is says is if a crime is a crime of moral turpitude, then it is treated more severely under the immigration code and case law set by immigration courts have determined there to be a crime of moral turpitude. Some things we are always going to realize fall into those categories such as theft, those kinds of things stealing. But many other crimes also fall into the level of a crime of moral turpitude and are treated more harshly under immigration law than they are, generally speaking, under criminal law.
