Question: Can you talk a little about the ‘war on drugs’ in Wisconsin and how well it has worked over the years?

Answer: Well, the so-called war on drugs is a political term that’s been tossed around through the years at election time. Interestingly, that phrase is not really being used too much now with Wisconsin citizens because so many of them support the legalization of marijuana, especially for medicinal purposes. The war on drugs is really a phrase describing prosecuting marijuana users in the past, but taxpayers don’t really want to spend the money putting these people in jail or prison. I don’t see that as a big issue in Wisconsin anymore.
