Attorney Joshua Hargrove is experienced in criminal defense. Driven by a critical pursuit of justice, he is a staunch advocate for the marginalized.
Hargrove graduated with a Juris Doctorate from The University of Wisconsin and holds a dual degree in political science and legal studies from the University. Most recently, he served as Assistant District Attorney in Madison, Wisconsin. Before that, Hargrove served as Assistant State Public Defender in Northern Wisconsin, representing the most maligned populations in Pierce, St. Croix, Dunn, and Polk Counties. There, he created a niche for the critical use of High Court opinions coupled with extensive knowledge of Wisconsin Law to effectively litigate cases.
As an Assistant District Attorney in Dane County, Hargrove trained colleagues, effectively represented victims, and advocated for an evidence-based prosecution method. He began his career at Boardman & Clark, LLP, where he gained unparalleled experience in the legal field, published articles, and assisted in litigation to the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Hargrove delivers sharp and effective written and oral litigation for his clients. He served as a Senior Associate at Tracey Wood & Associates and was promoted to equity partner in 2023. He is a member of the National College for Dui Defense, Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and Dane County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He is one of the state’s most sought after speakers in the areas of criminal defense, and his skills have been sought after and employed in high stakes cases as well as relied upon to train defense attorneys across the state. He was also selected as an instructor for Legal Shield, a company devoted to teaching citizens the laws related to firearms.
Attorney Hargrove was invited to speak at the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) conference in Las Vegas in November and the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense attorneys annual conference in September. This summer he taught at the NACDL conference in Milwaukee.
